A day at the park always provides an opportunity for photos. I didn’t have my regular camera with me but my iphone will do just fine!
Angles & Lines
For these photos, I focused on angles and lines. My daughter is a climber. She loves the monkey bars and climbing to the high points at the playground. I used angles to give a sense of height & lines to provide direction to the eye. In the first photo, I wanted to capture her length to put more emphasis on her hanging onto the bars. I positioned the camera at a low angle to give a sense of height with the lines of the bars & the pods that stood overhead. It also lengthened her arms & framed her face.
For the second photo, I was also drawn to the lines. They accent her upward climb and draw they eyes on her journey. My heart is usually in my throat when she does her usual climb on a play structure. But she’s always sure footed and brave in her ascent.
Both images were taken with my iPhone XS Max and edited with the VSCO app.
